The mistake that costs people the race

The infield does not see the finish line. Most people standing in it watch the Derby on the video board, which is a fine day out and a terrible surprise if you paid to see horses cross a line. Infield admission runs roughly $80 to $100 and it is the cheapest way in for a reason.

The seating map is genuinely complicated: Clubhouse boxes, Homestretch Club, Third Floor boxes, Turf Bleachers, Millionaires Row, infield general admission. They differ in sightline, in cover from weather, in dress code, and in what you are allowed to walk to. There is no single page anywhere that tells you which one is right for you, which is most of why this page exists.

The resale trap

Churchill Downs designates Ticketmaster Ticket Exchange as its only authorized resale channel. Tickets bought elsewhere can be refused at the gate. StubHub lists Derby tickets anyway. If you are buying resale, that distinction is the whole ballgame, and it is not advertised to you at the point of sale.

What a package includes

Reserved seating matched to what you actually want out of the day, a Louisville hotel, and transfers. Packages are quoted rather than listed, because the seating tier drives the price and picking the tier is the part that needs a conversation.
